Fern's little sis in on Ebay and she's a mixte with all original parts including the aluminum crankset- Fern is green with envy! Except the Brooks saddle. Thanks to Sheldon's Retro Raleigh page, she's a 1976 and the same size as Fern (21.5 in). Somebody's got to get her!

Dunno, but I'm tempted to find someone in the area willing to pick her up and take her to the LBS to pack her up! Not that I need another one, but she's way too cute.

I looked up the name of the lbs, I was thinking about calling them and asking if they could pick up and ship the bike for a fee. It seems like such an odd thing to do and if you have plans to bid on the bike I won't, after all you found it first.

No, please- I was just hoping she'd go to a good home. If no one else wanted her, I might have tried.

So I called the lbs and they shut me down and fast. I'm bummed.

Maybe you can email the auction lister and see if they're willing to deliver the bike to a local bike shop?

Maybe the shop would be willing to package it & mail it to you if they didn't have to pick it up?

Jones, you are in California. Tons of mixtes where you are. Do a search on your local craigslist or on ebay. A lot of people don't call them mixtes, they just call them ladies or women's bikes. That's how I find them.
