LOL, no worries! The joys of being the new gal.
It's just one of those topics that many have definite opinions on, one way or the other. And it does come up pretty regularly![]()

I ride with earbuds- in both ears. My training rides are long-- really long and while sometimes I enjoy the silence and nature I also enjoy a good beat while riding. I ride in pretty remote areas so traffic is minimal.
Honestly, I'm not concerned at all with what's coming up behind me because I wouldn't be able to do anything about it anyway. My head is on more of a swivel (front and sides) with tunes then when I'm not riding with tunes because I don't take anything for granted.
It's also a force-field to belligerent motorists shouting obscenities at me
I know this may not be the mainstream opinion.

Uh oh. I thought Jobob had headed this thread off at the pass, but I guess not. Here we go!
I'm hoping we can get through the weekend without another Diva Cup thread!

Well let's see. I have a Diva Cup in my hand as we speak. I have to tell you that I respect women very much for what they go through once a month. I have also been present for the birth of both of my sons-- a truly amazing experience. I thought I knew pain treshold --- nah you women take the cake!
Just recently one of my clients DNF'd a Double Dentury because she was adamant about wearing tampons. There were other issues but the soaking through her shorts with the irritation and chafing that insued was the major cause of her DNF. For the cost of one tampon -- hundreds of dollars and hundreds of hours of training went down the drain.
I understand and respect values and principles of many peoples to include cultural differences. However, for one day for a few hours I think she could have put those ideals aside and used a tampon and completed the event. Just sayin'.
In addition, I spoke to Brandy and she doesn't like the Diva Cup.
Thanks Jobob, now I know who Vireo is. Okay, you resurrected Diva cup...thanks...how about this one?
I'm 54 years old, have green eyes and size 8.5 feet. What size bike should I get?
Edit: I need to get away from Saturday detention kids and GET OUTSIDE!

Heh heh, I so wish I could get outside and ride.![]()
So instead, to blow off my aggravation, for the time being my new hobby is to torment the new girls (and guy).
Heifzilla and Vireo, you are both very good sports! [thumbsup]

If they choose to wear them outside of our training sessions that's truly their business not mine. I wouldn't advocate to you, the readers of this forum, or to my clients to wear earbuds. I am merely telling what I do.
Now remember my shortest training rides are 6 hours and my longer ones 15 hours. My events are double centuries and longer. I train alone 99% of the time and race alone (usually stuck between the lead riders and the chase group) so the tunes are welcomed company and distraction.
