Look at What I Found Today...

It's spring cleaning time in this area and I found this poor thing kicked to the curb. So I pulled over and started putting it in the vehicle and my son tells me we can't steal it I explained it was a rescue

Anyway, it needs new tires, tape and a tune up but it's too big for me. Looks like a steel frame circa 1980's and it even has a bike powered light! I'm guessing the frame size is around a 56 cm but I'm not certain. And it's a double - I don't see too many of those, lol. Here it is:

Looks like a nice bike if he'll get some lovin'.
Great job on the rescue! Even if you fix it up and donate it to a shelter or something, it'll be nice to know that he'll be of use again to someone.

Yeah - it found a home! I went to pick up a mirror from the lbs I ordered and one of the wrenches is a college student. He is trying to start up a cycling club at the local community college and they're looking for bikes. I couldn't think of leaving it in better hands - and it fit him perfectly!

That's the best good deed I've done in a while and I feel good Of course, I made him promise to show me when he's all done fixing him up. Hopefully I can post a follow up picture.

mtbdarby, good on you for rescuing that bike and finding it a good home. It's already a cool bike, but with some work it'll be lovely.

nice one Darby! It looks to have quite good brakes & alloy rims, not a bad quality bike at all & perhaps won't need much work to make it fully rideable.

It went to a wrench, no less. Perfect! Glad to know someone will put it to good use and enjoy it as much as it's meant to be enjoyed!

That's neat! The bike compliments your Rusty. Good for you for being a good Samaritan to the bike.

Sundial - Rusty got to go to 1st grade today for show and tell. He was a big hit and did fantastic - I was very proud of him. Of course, Zeus had to go to. I couldn't leave big brother out of all that attention, lol.
