Agree w/everyone else about the reinforced patch. Put it inside!!

I like the fabric and color. I would buy these w/no chamois (regular pants).

As reinforcement, it wouldn't be effective on the inside. It's not a pad; it's solely for abrasion resistance. I have a pair in black (you hardly notice the reinforcement panel), and if I'm going any significant distance, I wear a cycle liner underneath for padding.

You all have been VERY helpful with your feedback. I'll be sure to send a link to this thread to Sheila, so that she can read your feedback as well.

I love Sheila Moon and her design and far be it from me to disagree with her. And where is my button that says "ask me about my degree in design". Back in the day I was in school this was called "social error".

That is the t-shirt with the logos right smack dab on the b00bs, the typo that is an obscenity in Farsi for a product bound for the Middle East ...

I don't want to beat a dead horse but while her clothes are a wonderful solution for cycle wear you can step off the bike and into the store or a meeting. WE understand why someone would want abrasion resistance, preaching to the choir!

People in the store or meeting who we are trying to wow with our coolness and hipness will not.

Looking through the eyes of a non-cyclist it looks just wrong.

The outfit is almost perfect yet I bet RuPaul (see RuPaul rides thread) has no visible abrasion resistant stripe or chamois pad. Knowing Sheila she'll find the perfect pad for the fabric or vice versa and have a version that is even more stunning.

Yes, Lisa, I saw your very stylin' Sheila Moon combo when we met in July. I just couldn't wear the leggings in warm weather; first of all any leggings I buy will be tights on me, and secondly, I would be too warm.
One thing I did learn from living in a desert climate, is that it is cooler to wear skirts or sundresses when it is warm. I tend to wear short skirts and sleeveless tops as my uniform when it is 80 or above. When it is cooler, I wear capris or long shorts. I hardly ever wear regular length shorts anymore.
The Sheila Moon bolero I bought didn't fit me right, so it went back. I bought a plain black one from Terry, but I hardly ever wear it; I'm always too hot or too cold with it on when riding, so it probably has limited usefulness to me. I do wear arm warmers a lot, though.
I really like those houndstooth pants and would wear them to class, but not with the abrasion patch.

Yes, we all have different clothing needs.

I gotta say it- those pants look like plaid to me, not houndstooth. My mother was a big fan of houndstooth (BIG houndstooth no less) to the point where it annoyed me as a child- I used to think she'd use any excuse just in order to say the word...."houndstooth". Of course I would simply love to hear her say it now that she's gone.

It *is* houndstooth, though. A very small houndstooth that really is quite beautiful. Sheila calls it "lunatooth" because she has a hound named Luna.
