Try an obtainable goal--say 1/2 lb a week. That will keep you encouraged and it won't set you up for failure.

Thanks sundail. I am really trying not to look at the big picture and just keep focusing on this meal, this choice, this day but when my mind wanders and I think about having to diet for more than a year it is a little discouraging, which is why I was trying for two pounds a week. Next weight loss thread I will set my goal at what ever weight loss I achieve this time.

Jones, What might help is to not think about it as "dieting". Maybe just think of it as a different way of eating.

I think that many people successfully diet, only to regain alot of weight, because when the goal is reached, all the good eating habits go out the window (That for sure describes me the first time around... ). Instead, this time I'm focusing on a whole new way of eating, so that I can *maintain* this weight loss for the rest of my life. For me, losing weight is the "easy" part; maintaining all these healthy habits, on the other hand, will be a lifelong effort.

    Talking wow

    Ladies, women, fellow TE-ers....

It has taken me this long to replay to Susan's words in addition to others because I have been completely blown away. Thank you for all of your kinds words, thoughts and inputs. I am going to try to do this.... all for me!!! it is about me being healthy and making the right decision.

You women have been here for me and for so many others daily. I seriously wouldn't know what to do without you all. I seriously can't begin to let you know how much it means to me to know that you are here for me know matter what.

I seriously don't know how to express my self more clearly besides a thank you.

I hope to see better numbers after this pep-talk.

    (Right now... it's 160.4)

    Love to you all...

Bummer, I'm 153 this week, up a pound from last week.

Tucker Cat is doing well, he's at 15.94. Yay Tucker! He's a much happier boy too I think - lots more energy now that he's back to his carnivore ways.
