Sorry about the break in!
Great news about your new bike. I hope you have miles of fun together.![]()
The most effective way to do it, is to do it.

I hope you get a neat camera soon. When you do, can you post lots of pics of the trail and your bike?

The new bike and I have gone on two rides together. She's very cool. Climbs really well and blips over roots and things no problem. I have a lot more confidence on this bike than I have on any other mtn bike I've tried. Descending is great except when I have to do switchbacks... then I feel off balance and like I'm at risk for going over the front end. Any tips you mtn bike girls?? Maybe I should start another thread.
Still no pics. Soon.

Look right around the corner, not at where your front wheel is pointed. And slow down lots before you start turning - makes it easier to bail if it all goes pear-shaped...![]()

Drink coffee and do stupid things faster with more energy.
Butt back and shoulders down - really bend those elbows! You'll be surprised how much difference it makes. And like the previous post says, really look around to the exit of the corner!
There has been a recent thread on just this topic, started by the lucky girl whose signficant other bought her a Spesh Safire? Covered a fair bit of ground about this topic, as she felt much more upright on it than her previous bike (Spesh Epic) and worried about going over the bars when descending.I think this is it..
