    Hello there -new here

Hello everyone. I'm not new to cycling but i'm new here and just wanted to say hello.

I have a Pashley Princess which I like to ride copenhagen stylie http://www.copenhagencyclechic.com/ hee hee

I have a hybrid for commuting. But I also have a long commute (19 miles) and I do part of this by train with my bike. However, I'm looking into spending less of my time on the train and more on the bike by doing about 1/2 of the distance on the bike. Gulp .

I've been a member of other cycling forums but I find them male orientated so looking forward to finding inspiration here.

Hi Coco--welcome! Jealous of your Pashley! Show us a pic if you have one.

That sounds like a good commute. That you have the option of taking the train all or part way is ideal. Starting from the halfway point and sounds good. You can always get back on the train if it's too far. Soon enough, you'll be cycling the whole way.

    Have fun!

Hi, Coco! Welcome to TE. The Pashley Princess looks like a fun bike to ride. I wish we got them in the U.S.

Good luck on your commute and I hope you have fun. Let us know how it goes.

I stand corrected. I didn't know Clevercycles started carrying those. Another reason why I should stay away from there.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. My Pashley is my pride and joy I must admit. When you've had a fully enclosed chain guard and skirt guard you wonder how you ever managed without them...

Coco, welcome and what an absolutely stunning, head turning, beautimous bike. Oh boy, does that ever remind us what bicycling is all about. Might have to drool on the website for a while.

Alas I also dream of those beautiful streets of Copenhagen where the women are chic and the bike lanes are wide. I have a 1958 Schwinn Corvette that I keep in my office (I'm a librarian at a small college). When I need to get across campus I ride the Schwinn in my heels, leggings, skirts, whatever I have on for the day. I love it, except one person said I looked like Miss Gulch from the Wizard of Oz.

I love the idea of the 1958 Schwinn sounds wonderful. I love anything retro.

Thanks for all your comments. I am looking forward to the longer commute - but I am going to have to rethink what I wear. At the moment I just go as is - but that won't do for a 10 mile slog.
