    The SLOW Bicycle Movement

Like the 'slow food' movement, this one focuses on savoring each moment in a relaxed and easy way:

That's their blog. They have a Facebook group too, but FB is too 'fast' for the likes of me.

This is my favorite concept of biking!

This year my resolution was to use my bike more and more for everyday tasks and errands and to savor my bike rides more. And next week, I'm going to start baking our own bread again for the first time in years!

snail with bike helmet-bike the blossoms ride

Coincidentally there is a Vancouver bike ride that will go through the cherry blossom neighbourhoods/routes on Sat. Apr. 18/09. It's a self-guided ride with a map supplied in advance.

The Slow Food Group partnered with a Vancouver cycling group for this Bike the Blossoms Ride. Places to stop where some stops are places to eat (you have to pay).

The snail wearing the bike helmet over the wheel..is cute.

"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."

Love it, love it love it! From an outlander's perspective, this is what NO is all about--how I wish I had that laid-back lifestyle (and no hills between me and the grocery store).
