My ride was actually yesterday, but I was too lazy to post it. I did a 33 mile club ride that started about 4.5 miles from my house. It was 37 when I left, and I had to convince myself to leave. I rode to the start point, going about 12 mph down the hill, because I didn't want to get chilled. I was fine once I got going, but it remained cloudy and raw all day; it was 48 when I got home.
We did all of the familiar routes through Lincoln, Weston, Wayland, Sudbury, Acton, and back to Concord. It was a hilly route; not big climbs, but lots of them. I usually stay right behind the leader on these rides, but they were very speedy for some reason. I was at the back of the front group, though. I should clarify and say the front group of "old" people. This is a group where I often catch people on the climbs, which seems weird. I knew I wasn't going to join them for lunch, since I had work to do and the ride was going right past my street and Strawberry Hill Rd. About 3-4 miles before the point where I went home, I wasn't sure exactly where the group was going (they use a human arrowing system, not cue sheets), so I peeled off and cut through a school parking lot and a path, that I used on my old commute. The leaders were coming down the road right when I was exiting the path, so I ended up being an arrow at a very busy intersection.
It was good, but I was tired at the end.

So, even though I would have been willing to serve, and had answered all their questions honestly, I didn't get picked this time, I won't get summoned again for 6 years now, and I'm sure GLAD!
