Like wise ??? what is table spread? soft butter perhaps. looking at the recipe I would have to say its butter.
I know brits, Aussies, Kiwi's call bell pepper capsicum but table spread?? that's new to me.

It's sort of like margarine/butter but healthier. The one I used is called a "dairy blend" of butter & canola oil made by Capel. I bought it because it seemed like the healthiest one. I don't use it very often as i don't put spread on my sandwiches.
What would you guys call this?
I call it butter! I don't use margarine.

Sounds a little like Smart Balance or "I Can't Believe Its Not Butter"...yes, Amercians have stupid names for this, too.Basically, no trans fat butter substitute... there are quite a few on the market now.
Thanks for the recipe - it sounds good. I would think that with the moisture in pears, you could probably skip the spread part of it, too. I'm storing this one away for the fall when I'm begging for ways to use up our pears!![]()
