Yikes! Does he have a ball to keep administering pain drugs or something? After my dad had his colon cancer surgery they sent him home with this fanny pack with a ball of liquid pain drugs. When it ran out he just removed the hairline needle himself. It was wicked cool and made post-op much more comfortable, just curious if that is what you were talking about. Glad you have help, that is a seriously injured patient!

Hey! My dad had colon cancer too!
George got that cool ball thing to take home too! They told me it was kindof like an epidural and novicane combined. Then, he also takes pain pills by mouth for the next little while. If he is feeling good, he can take that needle out of his neck tomorrow or wednsday. I think the ball thing is cool too. I think he should keep it in as long as he can!
A group I am sorry you are in with me- Dads who had cancer but mine is alright these days.
That ball thing is pretty cool though, we did kind of razz Dad because he had a "purse" for his. It was like this messenger bag thing to hold it. They also gave him some cheesey fanny pack for his chemo drugs, like they were on a mission to turn him into a goober tourist or something.
I would leave it in as long as possible and I don't like taking the pain pills but yowsers 90-ish staples, metal, shattered shoulders!
