wanted: bike friday

My mom is looking for a bike friday for air and boat travel, and i figured that since TE people are always raving about them, I'd post on here. She is 5'10" and fairly flexible on componentry. She would prefer one that is a cute color (red, purple, yellow, etc) but is open to other options. Show me what you got!

Have you looked at the Bike Friday website? They have a section for used bikes if you want to save some money. It also has alot of information if you dig around about all sorts of things having to do with the bikes.

What is your budget? Bike Fridays can be quite expensive. If your mom wants to spend less and she's just toodling around on the bike, Dahons might be more reasonably priced. I love my Bike Friday and ride fairly long distances on it, so it's worth it to me.

Check the "Yak" list associated with Bike Friday too. Someone just posted in the last couple of days who was selling 2 Bike Fridays. I think both were built for someone 5'10" IIRC.

Just checked out the "yak" thing and sent her (my ma) the info. She just test rode some Dahons today and thought they felt a little cheap, so I think she'd be leaning toward the bike fridays... though I honestly don't know what she's thinking pricewise. Also sent along the info about the one you have, susan.

CA in NC - I know!! I just saw that and sent it to her. sounds perfect, except for the un-fun color :-P

... especially since she lives in RI and could test ride it..!
