He came through the surgury well. The Dr. said that everything is back where it should be, but he is really in a great deal of pain. We will be at the hospital for a few days now I am sure. 4 months is the recovery....I think that late summer would be hopeful for him to ride outside, but we can hope!
Keep those healing thoughts coming this way! Thanks everyone!
Sending healing energy for a speedy recovery!
Cheers,

Best wishes to George for a speedy recovery and to you for all you will be doing to aid in that recovery. It will be slow and tedious for him but ....this too shall pass. Sending good karma....
Sending positive vibes to DH and YOU. Sometimes being the caretaker can be as hard. When DH has been seriously ill I have always gotten sick because I worry so take care of him and you. I know he is in pain and racers/riders that can't ride sometimes are just a bear to live with. Best wishes!![]()

You don't have to be great to get started, but you do have to get started to be great. -Lee J. Colan
He was released from the hospital yesterday
He is still in a lot of pain, but he has this thing that numbs his shoulder (like novicane) still attached to his neck, and tons of pain pills. Fortunately, my in-laws are wonderful, and they are helping to take care of him so I can go back to work (which I am not really excited about doing!).
4 days in the hospital was more than we were expecting, but there were not any complications. It was just that painful! The x-ray people said, "wow, I've never seen this much metal in someone's shoulder before." Great.
Hopefully the staples (all 90 or so of them) will be out next monday.
Thanks for all of the well wishes. It has certainly been rough and exhausting, but I am grateful for good doctors and their ability to help fix it!
