    Clara's Great Depression Cooking Show

For those of you who no longer have your Granny around take a look at Clara's Great Depression Cooking Show

I'll admit I've only watched one episode (she's kinda scaring me with that knife) but it did look good. And she tosses in a little story about bootleggers next door on this episode.

    You go, Clara!

I've eaten far worse...although if I were raising a family on pasta and peas, I imagine I'd be sneaking over to the neighbor's garage now and again.

OMG - I've watched all of her vids! I love her, she brings back such memories! She's the same age (and totally reminds me of) my maternal grandmother. Oddly enough, she's also the same age and actually grew up in the same neighborhood as my paternal grandmother (who died when I was only 2, so I don't remember her).

I would bet that they knew each other. That's why I watched all her videos...to see if she mentioned a friend named Connie!

That's a really good idea! I think I will...I just need to find out what my paternal grandmother's maiden name was (is it pathetic that I don't know?).

Yep, I sent her an email this afternoon!

And I'm an idiot - of course I know my grandmother's maiden name...it's the same name as my great aunt (her sister) who never married. Duh!

Clara's bio indicates that she worked for Hostess as a Twinkie filler

I'm going to start listing that as my occupation
