    There's a time and place for any kind of mount.

    I've seen some good videos on youtube. Did you search there? I thought I'd posted some links to them but I can't find them.

    Did you go through the cyclocross forum?

    I can mount and dismount like that with flat pedals, but I'm to chicken to try it while clipped in.

    FWIW - you shouldn't clip in while mounting doing this. The key is to clip in once you are already on the bike. In fact, in a 'cross mount, your feet won't hit the pedals until you are already on the saddle...

    Be careful on this one.
