[QUOTE=cunninghamair;410758]We've both become very addicted. As a result, in case of work or illness--"too bad for you. I'll stop at Walgreens on the way back!" The other day, I got a late start on my ride after he'd ridden with the boys--I phoned home and told him to make his own dinner![/QUOTEOh i want to be more like you! But if I tell hubby to make his own dinner it would be chips and salsa evry time. hey at least it's veggie. lol!

Well, I wouldn't stop riding and I haven't, but I do shorten rides. I ride alone more than my husband, but they are usually short, loop rides, when I only have an hour. His alone rides are commutes, where he can hammer away. We don't like to be away from each other, either. I know it's weird, but it's true. I think if there was a long term illness or injury, we would tell each other to go, but we wouldn't be out all day, leaving the sick one alone. I did go for a group ride the day after he had his angioplasty. . I asked him if it was OK and he told me to go. I did feel a little guilty and if it were now I probably would have just gone a short local ride. So much of life is "doing" this stuff together, that it would be a major adjustment.

My DH and I have become co-dependent on each other when it comes to riding. He pumps up the tires while I'm mixing our water bottles and packing snacks. He's mapping the route, while I'm checking that we have sunblock. We each have our little part that we do and if one of us goes out without the other we always forget something. We also workout together at the gym. If one of us is tired, the other encourages us to keep going until we're done our routine. It's ridiculous, I know, but after 22 years we're just an old couple who have become like one person... I have half the brain and he has the other half... LOL.
