Susan, I've wanted to do that one! You enjoy the experience, don't expect to go fast, and there's a lot of bouncing to one side or the other because people will suddenly start walking. It's amazing how many people SAY they can run 3 miles but they never actually have any intention of doing so. In the St. Paddy's run last year, I ran in the 8 - 10 minute mile group because the first group was sub 8 minute mile. I passed people in the first wave and I am NOT fast. I just started going in the first wave and getting out of the way of anyone who's actually going for an age group award.
I'm thinking there will be a pretty nice beer garden after your race![]()

It was the first longer run I've done without a lot of wind (actually there was a pretty good wind, it was just almost entirely a crosswind), so it was a little different that way; I kept up a pretty steady 10:30 pace the whole run. I'm still looking for a fueling solution for my long runs, though. Gels are fine on the bike but I'm not thrilled about the idea of taking in gels while running. I'll try Heed next, I think.

I really am needing some positive vibes from anywhere I can get it! So if you read this send them my way!!!
