hi yvonne,
i hope by now you are feeling better. i took my bike plunge on labor day in pt washington if you are familar with long island.
i fractured my rt shoulder. excuse the typing because i am rt handed.
have you heard of the pumpkin patch ride in new jersey. my husband, brother, his girlfriend and my friend are suppose to ride it oct 2nd. we were going for the century, depending on time might only do the 50 or 65. now we will just have to see week by week because. we booked hotel rooms any way and although my group has one for all attitude, i will want them to ride anyway if i cannot.
my friend is the only one of our group that has done it before. it is a really nice route, 25, 50, 62 or 100 miles nothing more than some rolling hills, it is basically flat. you might interested in this ride next year or future years. i can get you the info if you are. you a long sleeve tee shirt for early registration and it has great food at the stops and at the end wonderful apple and pumpkin pies for all.
needless to say i we will be there next year and i will ride ever so extra careful for months before.
take care of yourself and wishing you a speedy recovery.
joann
