I don't like Facebook either and I don't choose to join. A significant number of people do feel this way. Does this mean that we won't be notified of TE "announcements, promotions, and regular updates on the goings-on at TE HQ" just because we don't want to be Facebook members?![]()

I think having a facebook group or fan page is just a good way to get your company's name out to a different fan-base. For those of you who are unfamiliar, here's how it works. I join the te group, my friends SEE that I've joined this group, they check it out, some of them join, their friends see and so on. It's just good advertising.
BUT I will continue to come here more than check the facebook page. THIS is where it's at!
And me too. Great idea. Jennifer
Sorry I been MIA.
We're a bit new to the whole "social networking" idea as a company, but we're looking at it as a way to keep in touch with our friends and customers in a new (additional) way. Hopefully it will help us reach some people we aren't reaching now and stay in better touch with those we are.
The best way to hear about promotions and such is to be on our newsletter list. As far as the "goings-on at TE HQ", that's something that's harder to communicate via the newsletter. I think facebook might help folks get to know us a little better as the small group of enthusiasts that we are. Most of you know we are a small company, and if you've ever called in to customer service, you hopefully have gotten a feel for who we are as people. I hope facebook can help more people get to know us on a more personal level.
So, while we'll let you know about promotions via Facebook, I don't want people to feel like their being advertised to. It's more like we want to help you to get to know us better, and get to know all of you better in the process.
I'm not sure I'm articulating this very well. And, like I said, we're still feeling our way. We're always open to suggestions, so please let me know what you think!!
Oh, and Lisa, I do understand your reservations about Facebook. I only recently joined with a personal account, which I have limited just to my close family members and a few close friends. As someone else mentioned, I don't put anything out there that I wouldn't want in the public domain, despite who I've restricted my profile to. I willl say, though, that my sisters and I are managing to stay in much closer contact now that we're all linked up with Facebook. We girls are spread out geographically, and it's been kinda fun to get a window into their lives on a more regular basis via facebook. So, I still have my reservations, but I'm enjoying the benefit of reconnecting with them.
Thanks for your clarifications and reassurances, Susan. It's much appreciated!
I am on the TE newsletter list so it's good to know that I'll still be kept up to date on promotions and such even if I choose not to be a Facebook member.
I hear what you're saying about keeping connected with family, and I think keeping in touch with family online is a good thing.
Looking forward to receiving my new Sheila Moon grooovi 'go-go skirts' and bolero!![]()

I find that I'm enjoying keeping up with my extended family on Facebook. How else am I supposed to know that my nephew pitched well or my niece is doing her current event or my Sis in Law went skiing with a bunch of 5th graders? (She's braver than I am)
Keeping up with TE there will just be an added attraction for me.

I'm a fan now too!
Re facebook - I didn't think I would ever like it and THEN my nephew and his wife had another baby - rather than wait for my mom to call me and tell me in her usual 3 weeks late time I knew right away and got to see the pics immediately.
I LOVE it for keeping in touch w/ my family and friends - I feel so much more connected to their everyday lives.
