I'm at 230 (ugh) this morning. More realistically, would like to be 210 in 2 months.

245 for me, so no loss this week, but I learned how to make crab cakes and stuffed mushrooms (darn Food Channel!) and we ate out at a Mexican place last night and I might have overindulged a bit on the chips and salsa - service was slow. Yeah, I'll blame that. Ha!

lauraelmore - I'm right there with ya, sister. I was at 258 a year ago this month. It's been a very gradual loss for me, but I found cycling last August and loved it. I even did a short "tour" ride - 18 miles, and I had my regular training rides up to 25 miles when I wrecked my bike and had to get off-saddle for PT on my shoulder. My chiropractor is about ready to release me to start the longer rides again, and I've been on the bike for a couple of short five-milers, but I've got a lot of retraining to do.

Most of the time I feel wonderful about my new healthier self, but this week a friend at school who is putting our yearbook together took my picture reading to the kids in the library (I work there part-time in the mornings). I was sitting in an antique rocking chair with a bunch of 8-year-olds on the floor in front of me and I was holding up a book and smiling, getting ready to read to them, and my hips are literally spilling out around the spindles of the chair. I couldn't believe how roly-poly I looked. I actually asked her not to use the picture. It was shocking. I've got such a long, long way to go.

But what am I going to do about it?

    1. Lay off the chips and salsa - easy
    2. Get back on my bike for longer rides - also easy now that the weather is back to beautiful and my shoulder is healing
    3. Keep hanging out here at TE for the love, encouragement and support these people offer up so generously

Oh man, I inspired you to chime in? Now I have to keep riding and losing. I don't want to un-inspire anyone. <g>

    153.5 lbs ... goal 149 lbs

I am so frustrated that my weight is not moving! I have to keep reminding myself how thrilled I was when I first got below the magical 154lbs (70kg)...
