My current road bike costs more than my first car but way less than my current car. I know people who spend more on a pair of jeans than I did on my Craigslist mountain bike.

Where was that joke about a bike that "weighs less than a f@rt and costs more than a divorce"?

I agree. I thought we could humor her but I won't click the link.

Zen and Alpinerabbit, actually u guys are quite right, some of their bikes when aged, the colour gets abit off. maybe i just like the idea of a girly green blue.

as for the OP, why do people have nothing better to do?

    what link?

My bike is worth more than my car. At least it cost less than my car cost when I bought it.

Celeste means sky, celestial color. I like it, but not enough to paint my custom bike that color.

My entry level road bike cost about the same as my used car, but I ride it more than I drive. My old MTB was a gift, and the only $ I put in to it were road tires and $20 computer form Target.
The thing is, other than cooking and wasting time on Facebook, it's my only hobby, and one of few vices (wine and chocolate are cheap). It's cheaper than a personal trainer and therapist.
When people ask what I paid I smile and say "I ride quite a bit."

How much should I spend on a bike? As much as I can afford with art sales.
