Do saddles transfer from bike to bike?

I've always wanted a Brooks saddle just because. My question is: if I buy a zippier bike, is it likely that a nicely broken in Brooks would work on the new bike?

I don't see why not. In fact, when I go somewhere that I'll need to rent a bike I bring along my own saddle and pedals. Even if the rental doesn't fit me perfectly (and nothing ever does fit as perfectly as my very own bikey ), at least I know my butt will be happy.
