BTW, we're planning a TE-DC luncheon on March 21 (details in the Mid-Altantic Forum). Perhaps you can attend?

Well, since I've been lurking on TE for over a year, I figured it was time to speak up!

    Real name: Not tellin'

Where do you live? In the west

Explanation of your handle: just my initials and, crazy enough, I cycle.

Explanation of your avatar: my puppy

Age (general or specific) in my 30's

    Occupation: piano teacher, sahm

    Favorite bike: mine

What's in your stable? Jamis Xenith Race

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 40 mph with a giant group of men during a century ride

Another picture of yourself or your ride? sorry, no pics

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: I don't lie, I promise!

Most memorable moment on my bike: Finishing my first century last year, Little Red Riding Hood. It was great.

Most fun ever had on a bike? Can't think of any specific moment, I try to always have fun

    Update on last post

I looked at my last post this morning and thought it sounded a little arrogant. Please, let me clarify.

    1. Car purchase was not on a whim. My 15 y/o veh. was on its last legs.
    2. I believe in sharing the road (and trails) with everyone and make sure I follow all safety rules.
    3. I love my hybrid bike! Cycling (on and off) over the years on my Trek hybrids has given me the confidence to get out and try something a little out of my comfort zone-like road biking. I'd probably try Mtn biking, but I just know I would end up in a hospital somewhere.

It's cold this morning in ATL, but supposed to have '70's by the weekend. Spring's just around the corner.

Hi guys! I'm new here but this seems about as good of a way to introduce myself as any! I found this board while doing a search for a saddle that won't kill my girlie bits. I'm so glad I found you all!

    Real name: Amber

Where do you live? Abingdon, Maryland

Explanation of your handle: I'm a vegetarian

Explanation of your avatar: Very simply - I'm obsessed with my pets (seems like a lot of you on this board are. I love it!)

    Age (general or specific): 28

    Occupation: Interior Designer

Favorite bike: I don't know much about them, but I like mine enough...

What's in your stable? Trek 1600 WSD

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 32 going downhill in my neighborhood last summer

Another picture of yourself or your ride? If I figure out how to post pics, I would post one from my triathlon last fall...I was about to topple over but pulled out the save!

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: In 5th grade I told my teacher I helped Nintendo come up with ideas for new games. Seriously.

Most memorable moment on my bike: I was leaving my grandmom's driveway last summer and merging onto a busy street. Because I'm still getting used to my stupid clipless pedals I ended up toppling over and smashing into her mailbox. She of course has no clue what I was up against and yells "Don't you know how to ride a bike yet?"

Most fun ever had on a bike? Still waiting for it. I honestly don't like it very much yet (I blame the pedals). But I'm sticking with it!!

Well I have posted a number of times but always forget to say who I am, so here goes:

    Real name: Karen

    Where do you live? Chicago

Explanation of your handle: Named after my favorite soda. Yes, they still make Tab, and it still has that wonderful bitter taste. (I am the only woman I know who enjoys Tab but has never smoked cigarettes.)

Explanation of your avatar: don't have one

    Age (general or specific) mid-40s.

Occupation: I come here to forget work.

Favorite bike: my Serotta Legend Ti

What's in your stable? In addition to my favorite, Dutch Bike Company Oma and Surly Karate Monkey.

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 41 mph on a downhill with lots of wind.

Another picture of yourself or your ride? Will post that later.

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: I love your peach pie. (To my wonderful grandmother in-law. And I ate the whole piece)

Most memorable moment on my bike: First ride on my Stingray.

Most fun ever had on a bike? any ride in the sun (we are sun deprived in the Midwest)
