Actually, that's the best trick. Find a good arnica salve, and massage the bruise as much as you can, as soon as you can do it! It encourages circulation which leads to healing. And if the bruise has the big hard bit in the middle, I think that's a hematoma, but I'm no doctor, apparently that can turn into a calcium deposit that won't ever go away, or something like that. A doctor told me that years ago. After you're used to it, you'd be amazed at how bad a bruise you can massage.....

Still sending loads of healing butterflies your way, RM!

    ????
The bruises are big patches under the patches of puncture wounds. Can I put arnica on that? They are kind of deep, and still a bit weepy.
And I do think one is more like a hematoma. Large raised, looks a bit differnet from the other bruised areas.

Give it about 4 to 5 day fromthe incident of injury then begin gently massaging the area.

Meanwhile arnica and ice are great.

And Tegaderm... I'm going to start a new thread about tegaderm.

Ouch is right. Having been on the receiving end of many of those types of spills I can honestly say I feel your pain. We have been having lots of them lately because we are riding on frozen stuff. Ouch!!!!

I hope you heal up quickly.

Oh no, only just read this thread, my bestest friend on TE, that accident sounded so bad.

Lots of nice warm baths, especially before you go to bed, and chocolate, yes chocolate helps, especially some of those lovely gooey scrummy And of course, some hot buttered crumpets while lying on the settee with a good book and watching an old black and white film on TV!

I have never heard of Valley Fever so had a look on the internet and came across this. "How do people get valley fever?

Valley fever is spread through the air. If soil containing the valley fever fungus is disturbed by construction, natural disasters, or wind, the fungus spores get into the air. People can breathe in the spores and get valley fever. The disease is not spread from person to person."
So, simple, just don't breathe when you are on your bike!!!

Anyway Denise, YAY, at least you are back on your bike, um, well, sort of, next time just hang on to those damned handle bars tighter!

Sending lots of good karma and one very big pink flutterby.

    Hugs
