I hope no one minds me resurrecting this thread... I've been away for months and I'm trying to catch up, and this one is just too fun to pass up.I want to see more pics of TE'ers as kids, so I'm adding one of my own!
This is in front of my grandparents' house in Arizona (and now *I* live in Arizona!) when I was not-quite-three years old.
The doll I'm holding is named Grunt. She is my first doll from when I was a baby. She has velcro that allowed her to hang on the crib bars... apparently, as a baby I would reach for her, and frustrated by my lack of freedom, arm-span, and/or motor skills, I would grunt. Thus, my parents named her Grunt, and that's just how it is. I should disclose that I still talk about Grunt in the present tense because she moved across the country with me for graduate school.
I would also love to know what kind of tree that is, because it looks like I'm standing in front of a giant pineapple (or perhaps I was a very small child...)!
Very cute, Badger. I like the story of Grunt. That's a Pineapple Palm (whowudda guessed it?). Phoenix canariensis for the botanical types here.
Badgercat, how cute!![]()
Unfortunately most of my kiddie pictures are in Germany with my parents, all I got is a couple of baby pics, so here is me as a happy baby with my cousin:
Followed by me looking rather gormless, but a prime example of my messy eating habits. According to my mum, any food that went into my mouth would have to be pushed further in by my fist (apparently I could get my whole fist in!). The quality is unfortunately not very good, as these are photos of the originals, that's why there is so much reflection....
And then I grew into a rather lanky tomboy kid (must be about 9 on this one), I'm the one in navy in the middle of the back row...

One day, I'm going to buy a cottage in a small village and become its idiot!
