Red face One too many times- An Ipod story

I've had my Ipod for three years. It's been dropped, dragged, soaked in sweat and generally abused (with love, of course). It has survived 40 mile rides, and being stepped on on the treadmill. Last night, I dropped it one too many times. It refuses to turn off. It's been inspected carefully, but the lil' guy just can't take any more and went nuts.

What's really sad is that I can't go 24 hours without it. After the final verdict of death was made, I stopped by Walmart at 7:30 this morning on my way to work to purchase another, regardless of cost, etc. It's blue and has an impact resistant jacket. I'm better now.

Plays music! Lots of music! The good news is, a friend just fixed old Ipod. New Ipod (although shiny and blue) will be returned. The $ spent will go towards the hitch for my bike carrier instead. Goodbye, blue Ipod.

I'm so glad you got old iPod working again! I got an impact resistant cover for mine when my old one died after what I *thought* was a small bump (it was in my bag that I ran into the car next to me while getting out of my car in a parking lot). I love the cover on this--I've dropped my iPod on the treadmill and watched it roll back and fly off the end and across the gym (o.k., only a few feet), bouncing before coming to a landing and I pick it up and it still works. It may not look cool and sleek with the cover on, but I don't care.

My son left his Ipod Nano (old style) in the pocket of his jeans, and the jeans got washed AND dried.

After a while, when we think it was drying out, it started working again!

Congrats on getting it working again! Hooray for Friend!

I have a rubber impact cover for my iPod, I'm very hard on my toys, and it's doing well. Highly suggested.

Thanks derailed! I ordered one yesterday. I had a belt clip on it, but it broke a while back so I've been doing the bra-stuff.

One of my mates washed her Shuffle several times. It didn't die until she put it through the dryer.
