I do feel guilty about wasting food but not enough to waste my body. I prefer the dump it on the office method. It actually is nice to see someone grab a cookie/chocolate/candy and have a smile on their face, you have brightened their day and made yours better by not eating all that candy!

One night I was dying for jolly ranchers, bought a huge bag but couldn't stop myself from overindulging. So I just put the rest in the lobby candy dish! I wanted them for myself but I have ZERO willpower.

I don't keep any of my "fat" clothes, because knowing I would have to buy new clothes keeps me accountable to maintaining my weight.

Today the owner of my gym told me he ran across my "before" picture they took when I first started up with them 16 months ago. It is truly hideous, AND it was after I'd already lost 20 lbs!

I put it on the fridge.

"Before" photos work, too. Anything to remind you of how much you've accomplished.

    Miranda:

You are a Cyclist. Food = fuel. Think of it in the same manner as Sport Beans, Clif Shot Blocks, PowerGels, etc. ... except more tasty, and likely to melt in your jersey pocket if you stick them in there.

So, enjoy in moderation, and pedal a couple extra laps around the block to assuage the guilty conscience. The calories will pedal away

I've been having a piece of chocolate every evening after dinner since Valentines day! And, guess what? Chocolate is a diet enhancing drug! I've lost weight? Now, who would have thought??

Thanks for the extra post of support and ideas on what to do with those sweets! That's one thing I love about TE. My cyber friends here give me a boost just when I need it.

One of my guy friend cyclists has kept Jolly Ranchers in his jersey pocket before and he said they kept him from bonking once when he ran out of other stuff. Kinda interesting.

Some of my non-cyclists gym pals look at food, and especially sweets, as the enemy (not exactly the best thinking). Where the cycle pals do not. Food is fuel... that's a to the point good response. I'll have to remember that.

Hmm, next time I could just pass out the candy at the start of spin class.
