Pooooo!!!Harumph I say...
I want my warm weather to stay for a few more months.
No to spring in the Northen Hemisphere![]()
While the groundhog may have said 6 more weeks of winter, on our unseasonably warm weekend (40-50F) two weekends ago we saw a flock of robins on our bike ride. Around here, that is the quintessetial sign of spring. I've never seen them this early. Of course, since this weekend was back to the usual 30F, that flock may not be seen or heard from again....
Thorn, don't despair. It's cold here now but there are crocuses in bloom and the birdies are singing again right before dawn. Those are true signs that spring is coming.
I saw lots of robins around here at the same time; come to find out that these are "Canadian" robins. They come down here in the winter to escape the frozen tundra, versus the robins that go down south during our winter. I thought it was strange, since I have never seen a robin before the 5th of March.
The Canadian robins do look different. They are fatter.
