Guys, this is a fun thread, but remember it is against forum rules to link directly from another site -- unless it is your own photo sharing site account, like Photobucket, etc.

    *** What is Direct/Hot-Linking?
Direct Linking occurs when you "pull" a photo directly from a different website for embedded display in your post. If you do this without permission from the site on which the photo is hosted, you are in effect stealing bandwidth from them.

the above photo is hotlinked, but its mine, from my website, from the domain my husband owns and the bandwidth we pay for - safe?

I'm depressed. I did a search on google for Homer hoping for a picture of an ancient Greek wearing a laurel leaf crown.....You guessed it.

Now I'm going to take my car to the car wash instead and ponder the decline of Western civilisation.

That's great - but I don't think two of us are going to be enough to turn this round.

Where are you trying to turn it to?

Sorta the laurel without the Homer:

The laurel wreath was for winners of athletic contests. So that's probably why you couldn't find Homer with one.

I kind of like this as a prize for athletic contests myself.

Who do you know who placed 3rd in the BARB's race? I'm amazed impressed and jealous (I ran 10 steps after my dog today and sprained my ankle).

The national gallery of Scotland in Edinburgh (aka the Athens of the North).

The bicycles are an added bonus. (The soup tins were a temperory aberration)
