DH is 6'2" and rides a 58 cm Cannondale and Kona Jake. He has a long torso and wears a 32 inseam pant. Seems he is similar build to your friend and a 56 cm would be small on him. When we have seen 60 cm it looked like he would not have the standover height. The 56 cm is common on Craigslist here in Austin, 58 cm would take a little patience.
