From a velonews article about the Tour of California press conference:

"I’ve slept with Paul Sherwin now more than his wife.”
Race announcer Phil Liggett, on his long-term partnership with colleague Paul Sherwin.

p.s. I love Paul Sherwen too!

They're both one of my favorite things about the TdF
"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."
David Desautels, in a letter to velonews.com

I love them both! Last year we saw them up close on my b-day in Palo Alto, I told DH "okay, done, birthday was good". We have the book "Dancing on the Pedals- the Found Poetry of Phil Liggett", those one liners are so funny!

I especially love that they tell you about the region the race is passing through, with details about the different cathedrals and chateaux (sp?) and whatnot.

I always record their live coverage in the morning, and then watch it at night instead of the prime time show with Bob Roll and the other guy. I like Bobke just fine, and I liked his partner last year too, but you just can't beat Phil and Paul.

    It starts today.

    Here is the schedule.

I'm pretty sure the longer broadcasts are the live ones, and the hour long broadcasts are repeats of highlights.
