I'm sorry, Zen. Do you know for sure it was the dog? Maybe it died of natural causes. That is such a sad thing.

I have to say I don't appreciate these type of comments. To say the least, t's very unfortunate that this happened and I think at this point in time I'm the one experiencing the most pain over this.

Zen- No doubt you are since you seem to have an open heart to the furry ones. I am sorry you had to have that happen to the poor kitty.

So sad, Zen. Sometimes cats and dogs manage fine together. Sometimes not. Hard to keep an eye on them when the power is out.

Yesterday I was feeling totally overwhelmed at the office. Then I found out that one of my co-workers is officially leaving to go to another agency, so I'm inheriting some of her projects. As if I didn't have enough to do already (so what am I doing on TE during work hours? shut-up It's my lunch break) We're hiring 2 biologists if anyone is interested (go to USAjobs.gov).
Then I discovered that monday is a federal holiday

Made a groomer appointment for Nala dog, and a massage appointment for me

I am now officially looking forward to monday

The weather here ... æh! Just below freezing and snowing heavily, which means lots of snow to clear later this evening, and probably again tomorrow morning. I left work on time, for once. Picked up DH off the airport bus (just back from a week in Riga), added some potatoes and salmon to yesterday's homemade chowder to make what was left enough for both of us, then took off to the gym. 75-minute endurance spin class, then my round of 11 different exercizes mostly for inflamed rotary cuff but also a couple of core and leg strengtheners. Home to heated up twice-left-over chowder. Now I'd better shower. Then quilting and reading and tv til bedtime. That's my Friday 13th.

Oh! Funny thing when I picked up DH. He gave me a red rose (a day early, but hey, I'll take it ). So I asked did they have those at the airport? And he answers "What? You don't think I actually bought it?" Sloooowly I turned, looked at him a long time as he did his innocent face, and said "You gave that one away easy! I didn't say you didn't buy it. I only asked if they had them at the airport. They could have had them for sale ..." We had a good laugh. And I'll still take the rose. After all, he could've kept it for himself.

Well once I get OUT of here...I have to log about 4 miles (running). But weather should be nice....sorry to the rest of you all!
Dinner of spaghetti and meat balls--easy to fix...meat balls already made. Then pack for the drive up to Jacksonville tomorrow. Oh yeah...entertain the children (6 cats!). So that is my Friday the 13th. Nothing bad...yet! Just another day.
Very quiet around here at work...I have not had an email sent my way in over 1 hour...now that is scarey!
    Happy 13th to all!
