This is the new dog I am fostering until after my son's new baby is born. He was found in a very bad situation, tied up on a 3 ft. chain in the same yard with some pit bulls who were unchained. He was 25 lbs underweight when he was rescued by a neighbor. They said they witnessed the "owner" picking up the dog and punching him in the face.

He's been at my house since Monday. Aside from not really knowing what to do with the other dogs while they try to get him to play, he's been such a sweetheart. I took him on his first walk today and he was such a good guy on the leash! His name is Mike. I'm so happy he's salvageable after he's been through so much.

Hi Mike! You're safe now. Your new brothers and sisters are your friends, they won't hurt you. You'll figure it out in time.

    golly, Mike is beautiful!!

I hear so much heartbreaking stories of abuse and/or neglect. How do these terrible offenders sleep at night?!?

I'm ever so amazed at the animals' resilience and their capacity to love humans even after they've been treated so horribly. Hope Mike finds a home that is deserving of his beautiful soul!!

Oh Mikey is beautiful and very lucky. Sounds like he was a "bait" for the pitbulls. Animal control should be called to the house with the pitbulls. If the owner was that abusive to him and with loose pitbulls... I just have to wonder.

I showed the photo to my partner and she said "bait" too. She also thinks the dog is a pure bred chocolate lab from the pic. probably stolen from somewhere. The owner will be getting another bait dog. so have the neighbor keep checking and turn that sorry arse to SPCA and animal control.

He is very cute. give him lots of hugs from all of us.
I wish him a good life, a happy life.

I just love those rescues. He has such a gentle spirit and how lucky he has you as family.
