Ha - My H bought two thin merino wool sweaters at the GAP just after Christmas. He accidently threw one of them in the dryer so now I have a new merino wool sweater! Actually, I feel badly, because he really liked this one and it looked really good on him. I, on the other hand, don't really need more wool...

Speaking of which, I'm wearing my new dark cranberry full zip shak today and I LOVE it. It's a fabulously flattering color for me (if I do say so myself) and of course, super comfy.

I went for a 1 hour ride at about 32F today. I was super comfy and toasty!
Had on my insulated hiking boots with 2 pairs wool socks, Ibex Ribbie and Smartwool midweight zip turtleneck, a screaming yellow lightweight jersey and then a screaming yellow windbreaker on the outside, two winter tights, layered 3 pairs gloves, a thin balaclava and a windstopper beanie under my helmet. It was all just right!- probably would have been fine without the extra jersey though....my core felt a bit warmer than necessary.
This was only my second ride of the new year thanks to the crappy weather.

    check this out

Apparently in August there will be a wool Buff available http://thegearjunkie.com/gear-junkie-scoop-wool-buff. Sounds good; I just hope they make them in the smaller size as well as the "regular" adult size, to fit those of us with smaller heads!

I just bought a buff for small heads... special woman's sizing. From the original buff company, in Canada. A wool one would be good, though.
My head is so teeny that the buff I bought from Terry is like a veil.

I use a smartwool kid's neck gaiter as a headband/ear warmer, helmet liner:

IT's not as long as the buffs, that's for sure... but I haven't quite figured out the advantage of all that extra stuff on the buff. I bought one after seeing that some people on here really liked them.
