I'm not having any luck doing a search, so could someone compare the Ibex 405 to the Shak? Someone (Lisa?) said they like their 405 and wear it often. Thanks.

405 is more like a thin felted wool jacket. Looks more 'tailored' like a wool jacket. Has two roomy jacket-like pockets. Someone had one shrink in the wash, so you should dry clean it like you would any wool coat thing.
Shak is stretchier, moves more like a zip sweater. Drapes on you more like a sweater. Only one tiny inconvenient chest pocket in the full zip. Washes very well in the machine (on gentle of course, and gentle temps) and doesn't shrink with this care.
Because the felted wool on the 405 is a tighter density (not thicker, but just denser felted wool), it keeps wind out a bit more than the shak, but the shaks stretch and let you move around better.
The 405 has a more formal look to it and has jacket-like shoulder tailoring.

Well even though it's high cut, I got a Woolie and just got under the wire on the TE New Year's sale. Got it two days ago, wore it yesterday, slept in it, wore it to yoga today.
Now I still need a low cut tank.
Will it stop after I've replaced my entire wardrobe with wool?![]()

I'm hoping it doesn't mean that I'm going to end up replacing my entire wardrobe with alpaca in another few years.

Well, it's saving me money too, Mimi....especially since B. claims he doesn't need anything else. He's a guy who can wear the same sweater 1000 times and not seem to need variety in the least.![]()

Well, Steve used to be like that when I met him. Then he caught on. Now I call him the male Imelda, with all of his shoes. He doesn't have as many cycling clothes as me, but has been buying a steady stream of casual/hiking/wool stuff since someone here introduced him to it...
He's been in Miami for a work thing and he called me to me he bought some new bathing suits, since his were like 10 years old. He said they were "not so baggy." I had to clarify that he didn't get Speedos, or our sons would tease him relentlessly. According to him, his new items are sort of a cross between baggies and Speedos. Then today, a package arrived from Longs Cycles. Hmmm. Not for me, because they don't sell women's clothes.
