Intervals this morning, then straight to yoga all sweaty again. I should've brought a towel with me somehow.

I made an appointment for a massage with a therapist who works out of the yoga/bodyworks studio. She's supposed to be really good. My rotator cuff is getting better, but the soleus seems to be getting worse. For some reason motorcycling really aggravates it, which I don't understand - not in Florida, anyway.

I actually got in a bit of running today! I had to walk to the post office -- round trip 4 miles. Took the dog, and did a walk / slow jog interval from telephone pole to telephone pole. Worked out ok as long as I didn't try to go too fast. The calf is holding up -- a bit sore but nothing serious. Will rest it 2-3 days and do it again if still feeling well.

It's been 3 weeks since I last pulled that darn thing. I hope it's finally going to stay fixed! Still doing a lot of stretching / yoga and anything that doesn't require walking fast or running!

Oakleaf: The massage sounds heavenly. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed just thinking about it!

Veronica: I feel for you -- my hubby is having one of those teaching years, too -- June cannot come soon enough at our house! Hang in there!

Did some weights tonight and then a very short run of 2 miles at 8 min. per mile. The a/c is still broken at the gym so it was really humid and hot. Sweat was pouring off me like a river. Yuck.

I'm looking forward to getting outside on the bike this weekend for a change.

Ugh, I need a mental pick me up. I should start another thread on my mother and my 10k.

I did 2.4 Wednesday with DH, it was alright. Last night I tried to do 2.4 but I was dehydrated and fatigued. I only got in about 2 miles and called it a night. My legs are sore.

    Ugh here too.

I changed my lunch routine to include a lot more fiber this week, and it caught up to me on this run. I found myself cutting my 4 mile run half a mile short to SPRINT back home. Ugh. Ugh Ugh. I do not usually have too many digestive issues, but I think I must have pushed my tummy to the limit this week, and then ran on it.

I am running again tomorrow and cycling on Sunday. Even though today was short, it's nice to be training again Yes, I am still being careful!

You guys are going to find this hilarious. I went to the other Y in town to use their track as it is bigger and nicer than the Y that I usually go to. Now, this track goes around the main gym unlike the other one which is suspended above the basketball court. I decided to go up to 20 minutes running barefoot on this track. So I did my run (felt great BTW), and as soon as I went to a quiet corner by the track to stretch a staff member said "excuse me, miss" and when I responded he said that proper footwear is required, four people had come up to him and complained (he himself hadn't noticed), there is a sign out front with the rules (which I did not see) and he would have to ask me to leave the gym. So I apologized for not seeing the sign and left, figuring I could just as well stretch in the locker room anyway. It appears I will be trying out the Vibram Five Fingers (which I did have in my gym bag but quite honestly wanted to see what reaction I would get by going shoeless) for running next time I go there--they're not sandals or open-toed shoes, and if I were to step on something my foot would be protected, so tha shouldn't be an issue. I found it sort of funny that I got the boot for not wearing shoes!!

I ran for 2 miles (slowly -- 5.2 to 5.7 mph) on the treadmill today -- longest since my tendinitis. Not a stitch of knee pain, and it felt so good I wanted to keep on going, but I forced myself to stop after 2 since I'd only done two one-mile runs since my two-week enforced break, and had knee twinges after both of those very short runs. No knee twinges yet tonight, so I think I can officially declare myself healed. I'll still be taking the recovery slowly and only building up mileage and speed over time. Very happy, tho!
