How about some real heat! Frosty is nowhere to be seen!

I think folks in South Australia & Vic would love some cooler weather at the moment I wouldn't want to be cycling in the temps they've had over the past few days.

    45C in Melbourne yesterday...47C in Ceduna(South Australia)!!!

Only 37 here today - which is 99F. (the red face is from heat, not embarrassment today). So I am not going outside, have the air on full blast and am hoping that the weather from the south does not make it here.

It would get that hot where I lived in AZ, I'd see spots in front of my eyes just walking to the mailbox at the end of the driveway. People liked to tell me "but it a dry heat", to which I'd reply "so's my oven...but I don't like to hang out in it"

I feel for you. I remember what 115 feels like quite well. In fact, I think of it, every time I walk outside in an icy, 5 degree windy day. I think about what it felt like to have to hold a rag in my hand to open my car after work. How my kids had to ride on an air conditioned bus to the pool after having activities in an air conditioned school at summer camp, instead of running around in the woods and swimming in a lake.
Some people don't mind it, but I felt trapped inside my house, much worse than I do in winter. In winter, you can put on layers and go play outside! And where I live, the really cold part of winter is not as long as the over 100 degrees I used to have in AZ.

I hope you all can go hang out in a pool or something to stay cool. In hearing the news for the Tour down under as well as the Australian Open, it is way too hot out there. Think ice!

I was watching the Roddick/Djokovic match, and the on-court thermometer read something like 62 degrees C. (The thermometer only went up to 60, but the needle was well past that.) That's what, 140 degrees F? Djokovic couldn't continue and retired.

    ohh

It's only been muggy here in Perth but when the sun peeked from the clouds it was worse...only 32c though..

I've been wandering on the bureau of met site www.bom.gov.au as i was curious of how hot it's been over east today...
In Adelaide it peaked at 43.1C earlier today & at 7pm it's down to a balmy 39C..

    Melbourne..45C
    Jaydee..it was 37C in Canberra...

There's no relief in sight either..

I had to chuckle at a reporter on the ABC this afternoon that discussed how wildlife was coping . In regards to possums that live in people's roofs etc, residents were encouraged to give them water or something!!

We also can't forget seniors living alone..

OK I know its seriously hot in the East when Tasmania cracks the big 40.
Apparently they had their hottest temp on the Apple Isle in thirty years.

Tell me about it - although out this way it was supposed to be cooler at only 35C. What worries me though is that there doesn't seem to be any change on the horizon for at least the next week - except for getting hotter. Looks like there'll be plenty of reading done and not much else. It is a worry when Darwin is one of the coolest capitals!

    stormy

Jaydee, Darwin's in their "cool"season with the normal monsoonal showers! I would hazard a guess it's similar to KL or Jakarta's weather at this time of year!

Also, what are those flowers in your avatar?
