The day before a planned training ride, my best training buddy was in a fairly serious car accident on an interstate in NC not too far from where her brother lives, but several hours away from home. She came out fine, but her car did not. Anyway, she called her brother to come pick her up, and the first thing she said was..."I've been in an accident... and this is really going to screw up my bike ride."

Loved them all, but I could really relate to this one
Yep, I had the pleasure of observing over several months the myriad changes to a dead raccoon left on the side of the road near my home ... over time it decomposed enough to become part of the pavement8. You have defined the 8 stages of road-kill decomposition through daily observation.
