Hi all, I am feeling better and mother is in good spirits as well. I spent some time with the dogs and may have to go visit my horsey neighbors when I'm feeling better (I'm nursing a cold). They always make me smile. I don't have access to a horse therapy program to volunteer, but I do volunteer my affection to the ones I meet.

I'm working through my grief for my foster boy. I knew he would someday be gone, yet I think of him as living forever. I'm glad I could give him a warm, safe home, a soft bed, and a full tummy.

Thank you for your heartfelt words of support and I will remember them in my quiet moments.

I just got off the phone with mother and she will need more surgery and the doctor wants to start her on chemo as well. Next week we'll learn more pending the results of this surgery.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. It has helped me during this time.

Sun, you're going through a lot and so is your mom. There are many cancer support organizations that can help - answering questions, providing advice, or just a listening ear from those who've been there.

Feel free to PM me if you'd like help accessing support. My thoughts are with you both.

Sundial I'll keep you and your Mother in my thoughts. I'm sorry you're going through such a trying time, hang in there I've often found I learned some of my best lessons in life when struggling and also how strong I really can be. I'm sure you and your Mother will learn some huge insights from this whole ordeal. It's wonderful that you have each other to lean on too.

You and your family are in my thoughts and I hope for the best outcome from your mom's treatment.

Luke looks so content in the pic from the pets thread. I'm sure he was a sweety. Thank-you so much for fostering him and giving him a great life. I'm sure he appreciated that too.

    Sundial,
I am so sorry for that you are going through such hard times. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I pray that you and your mom will experiance some extra special times doing this very trying season and that some of the smallest Blessing will be found. I pray that the nurses, lab techs, MD's and radiology staff will have an special connection with your mom and you.

I am a pediatric nurse and have fallen extra special in love with cancer kids and their parents. Some continue to be friends forever.

Bless you for being a foster mom. I am so sorry for the loss!

Well, what a blessing you are! You must touch so many lives through your compassion. A special hug goes out to you.

Mother had surgery #2 this week and she's recovering well. I think she'll start chemo in about a month or so and maybe radiation too. She's in good spirits as we plug along in this tired, old world. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Dad is having some heart issues as well and it may be due to him trying to clear all the fallen trees and limbs from the ice storm we had.

When it rains, it pours eh?

Thinking about you and your family. I've been through the cancer thing a few times now with family members and I truly understand how difficult it is. Take care and do what you need to do for yourself. ((((((HUGS)))))).
