We need to do it tonight before the moon wanes too much farther. Say, 10 pm with hot chocolate? Santa brought me some yummy irish cream stuff. Of course, it can have the real stuff added . . .

Hopefully, the neighbors won't be looking out their windows.

I feel for you all in the Midwest to East Coast with the cold temps.

As a side note, it has been very beautiful here. The last two days I have gone on rides/errands and its been in the mid 50's or higher. I am going to have to break out my knickers and short sleeve shirts soon. I was really sweating today.

Stay warm and good luck when your outdoors riding,

Um, -16 F here as I write this, actual temp. The wind has tapered off here so our windchill is only -28 right now, rather than the -40 we had last night and this morning. Our predicted actual temperature for this evening is -21.

Tomorrow we're going up to 9 degrees above 0. It'll be like Spring here too

Farmers on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain are having to cover the strawberry fields to save the crops due to the hard frosts for the past few nights that are supposed to continue for a few more days. I hope they don't loose their crops. Locally grown strawberries, yummmmm

I had heavy frost on my lawn this morning. All furry beasts preferred to stay inside thank-you-very-much. I can't convince them that they used to frolick in the snow.

Yet again there was no one else at the meeting point for our regular ride. It was 41°F. I was just as happy to get a nice slow short recovery ride, because my legs have been so fried, but what a bunch of weenies! I didn't say anything after Wednesday, but I had to tweak them today.

EDIT: Just so I'd remember what I'm missing at home, a friend of mine in Ohio sent me this little poem:
    Ohio Winter Poem

    It's winter in Ohio.
    And the gentle breezes blow
    Seventy miles an hour
    At twenty-five below.

    Oh, how I love Ohio
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
    I could never leave Ohio
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!!
