She is a Shih Tzu. Pure love and loves to snuggle. Some people think these dogs are barky or yippy. She really does not bark much at all until she gets excited while playing with my husband. Gosh she is such a sweet dog.

Here is my ferret Whizz, unfortunately no longer with us:

And this is Eric, the cat, about to celebrate his 8th birthday, but still behaving like a naughty teenager:

One day, I'm going to buy a cottage in a small village and become its idiot!

Aw, that's a cute pup, solo.

Twiggy came home last week, took one look at Eddy, and went into heat (he's VERY handsome). Luckily, she wasn't that bad....but Eddy was, well, enthralled with her! She was well enough to get spayed Tuesday, and she's recuperating very nicely.

Here she is in her Elizabethan collar. She actually doesn't seem to mind having it on at all.

Tulip - what kind of dog do you have? I've been looking for a dog between 20-30 pounds that my son could train.

Here's my Zeus - a 12 yo border collie mix therapy dog. He's the other love of my life (my son is the first). But he's definitely my bested buddy:

I've been looking for a used dog online and came across this amazing organization that rescues strays off the horrible streets of Taiwan. For whatever reason they send them to Canada, we probably have easier importing laws. But they have these basenji/manchester terrier mixes that are 20-40lbs. There's one that looks like a miniature yellow lab at only 26lbs!

Every single one of them has a sad story of abuse/abandonment and it was an evening filled with tears when I was reading their histories

Mtn Darby--how old is your son? My dog is 45 lbs. He's a border collie, maybe purebred. There are border collies that are smaller.

I love Basenjis, and would have liked to get one, but they don't bark and I needed a watchdog.

Tulip, mine is a border collier (mix) as well, but for some reason I wouldn't have guessed that for Shiloh. Maybe it's the ears that threw me? She looks smaller in her pictures which is why I asked. Zeus is usually at 40-42 pounds but has been ill for the past few months and we can't figure it out. He's down to about 36 pounds now....

My son is 6 1/2 and is dieing for a pet of his own. One he can take care of (must be low maintanence), train easily, play with and that will sleep with him. Of course, he's by his dad most weekends so I will share the training, playing duties so this may be a tall order. He would love a cat but I am not really a fan, and Zeus would have a cat for breakfast so it's not an option as long as Zeus is here. Any thoughts?

Oh, here's a little lady I've been keeping my eye on:
