I'm with NoNo. It's currently 17 here. The predicted HIGH temp on Friday is a whopping 6, or 2 in Maine where I will be. Yes, that's Faherheit, and yes, it's before the wind chill.

I'm not. I want some durn snow and unseasonably warm weather wrecks crops. I like my fruits and veggies. And I want to ski right now.
There. I said it.
Who wants to join me in a dance to the Snow Gods (of course to deliver snow only where appropriate - like not Seattle and Portland)?

I feel for you all on the East coast and New England. I was there for two winters during college and that was enogh for me so I moved back to the Southwest. I needed the sunshine and warm temps. I love the January thaw.
Stay warm. I'll be sending warm thoughts to you all.
True about needing snow where we need it. The West just plain needs the water. As much as a I like the sun and everything that comes with it. The snow is just as necessary.

I rode around the meeting point for 10 minutes this morning waiting for someone else to show up, and finally wound up riding alone.
We used to have a saying in North Dakota: "40 below keeps the riff-raff out."Apparently around here, that's 40 above.
PS. I left North Dakota. Draw your own conclusions.![]()

Gee, Lisa, I feel privileged. Our predicted high for Saturday is 20 and 28 for Sunday. But Friday.... a high of 10, with bad wind chill. I will be wearing all of my Ibex and my silk long underwear when I go to theatre Friday night.

It's 38C here today & going to be 40C tomorrow...Can you say melt..
I never thought I'd say:
"its great to be in Indiana in January!" rather than Minnesota!
At least it's a balmy -1 here right now!

This was my walk from the train this morning. The 3 inches of snow we were supposed to get overnight waited till the morning commute.

We have been having some nice warm temps here while the mountains have been getting hit hard with snow. Here at home the temps have been in the mid 50s and near 60 by Sunday. I just love it here.. go cross-country skiing in the morning with all the snow you could possibly need then drive down out of the mountains and put a pair of shorts on.![]()

I feel for you all in the Midwest to East Coast with the cold temps.
As a side note, it has been very beautiful here. The last two days I have gone on rides/errands and its been in the mid 50's or higher. I am going to have to break out my knickers and short sleeve shirts soon. I was really sweating today.
Stay warm and good luck when your outdoors riding,
