    Coming to Phoenix Area mid-February

    To disable ads, please log-in.

My husband and I will be visiting his sister in Chandler in mid-February. We lived there in my pre-cycling days, so I am unfamiliar with road biking in the area. Any suggestions on weekday group rides I might join up with while there? Although we're staying in Chandler, I'm open to Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa, etc. for riding.

We'll be in the Flagstaff area visiting his dad for a day or so as well. I'll probably stick to running up there.

It is hard right now even to find a place to run here in Flagstaff. We are buried in snow and the hardcore runners run in the road, but there is not much room to pass since there is snow piled everywhere. Snowshoeing is great; cross country skiing; etc. and they are good workouts. You can rent snow shoes and skis if you want when you are here.

But, you never know, it could be clear by the time you come or maybe not?

Thanks spokewench. My FIL sent photos of all the snow around his house -- lots! I was hoping there wouldn't be so much by mid-February, but the x-country skiing is a great idea. I know my FIL does it, so it could be something we could all do together (DH and FIL don't run). Thanks for the suggestion!

    Hi michelem,
I live in Ahwatukee and am usually off weekdays. I believe there are weekday groups, but I haven't found them. If you can't find a group but would like to hook up to ride South Mountain or something, let me know. I don't have my February schedule yet.

Thanks Sue! That sounds great. I'll be in touch.
