Reminds me when my parents bought me a bike made in France, a bike with smaller wheel. It was a full blown ten speed with drop bars. Meant for boys but who cares. It was gold in color... I only had it for maybe three years before it got stolen. That bike taught me how to do my own maintenace, repair flats... It didn't have quick release, nor butterfly bolts. Just regular old 6 sided metric nuts. I still remember the bike mechanic telling me that butterfly bolts were illegal so my bike was equipped with regular nuts. That was 19*&/19**?? maybe earlier like %%$# eeekk
Other kids were riding Schwinn Varsity. heh :^)
