    That's a lot of traveling!

Jo, your 2009 is going to be awesome. You've got a great coach, highly motivational, a wonderfully supportive honey and friends who will yell at you if you need it.

My year started stinky with a hamstring issue. I got that resolved in April, too late in the season to do 5 double centuries, the planned 2008 goal.

So I decided I would do a Half Ironman in August instead. I think my first season of triathlon went pretty well. I did two sprints, an Olympic, The HIM and a duathlon.

Lack of riding time caused me to DNF on my December 200 K. I did complete 9, one a month starting in March. I can tell you that it's really hard to only ride your bike when you're doing a 200K.

We didn't travel this year, other than Maine at Thanksgiving. I did run there on Thanksgiving Day. But everything else was here in CA.

OakLeaf, Wow! That's a lot of places!!! The furthest from home that I rode my bike (I don't run) in 2008 was about 60km away. But at least I rode!

I made my goal of 2000 miles, plus a little extra (2022). It was a huge push for me, and took more time than I'd planned for, but what a satisfying accomplishment!

In fact, my original goal last January was 1500 miles for the year, but I reached 1000 by late May, so I nudged the number upward to give myself a tougher goal to shoot for.

I also logged some of my longest-ever rides---four that were between 50 and 60 miles. I'm toying with the notion of signing up for a century next year.....

My 'big' adventure was doing a week-long bike tour of the Natchez Trace with WomanTours: 226 miles in five days of riding---HUGE for me.

Where I fell down was in the core strength-building department. And I paid for it by having a nagging backache for much of the second half of 2008. So I'm determined this (new) year to put some of my focus on getting stronger in all the right ways......I wouldn't mind being a little faster too!

Oakleaf that is a great looking map!

I started riding and logging my miles in June and since it doesnt look like I will be able to ride today .... my year end looks like this:

    Miles- 2,076 miles
    Rides- 100

I rode my first century in Sept and since then I had a set back with my knee so I have had to back way off. I hope I will be able to do a few half and full centuries in 2009.

    Happy New Year everyone!

Our travels for running/biking were not a big as the year before (2007) and hopefully his new year will bring more opportunities!
Let me see what I can remember:

Lots of running/biking in home state of Florida!
MS 150 ride in Rhode Island in August
1/2 Marathon in San Antonior Tx in Nov.
5k Great Santa Run, Las Vegas in Dec.

    2009:
More runnning/biking in home state of Florida
April MS 150 Houton to Austin
    Oct. Moab Woman Tours

Hopefully we will find a bit more places to bike and run this year!
