It was warm (60s) but WINDY! 17 miles out and back on a spit between two rivers ending at the Chesapeake Bay. Amazing headwinds and side winds. Short distance, but it took alot of time and it was hard work. I had a big slice of angel food cake when I got home! yum.
I wasn't even planning to go out for a ride yesterday but it was so nice out I had to get a quick ride out to the bay & back on the Alameda Creek trail - only about 10 miles but it made me happy.
Then LeeBob and I drove way down to Moss Landing for a fabuous seafood dinner at Phil's. We shared Dungeness crab and fried oysters - that really made me happy.![]()

I rode 27 miles with DH. It was warm (60), damp, and windy! We were lucky enough to have a tailwind on the road home, thanks to DH's good planning. My poor bike was filthy (all that spray and coastal road grit), but she got a well-deserved bath, drivetrain scrubbing, and lube. She's all sparkly now![]()
Finally got my fanny back in the saddle! I have done a bit on trainer and around town 20 miler...but no real ride to speak of.
But Sunday slept in and decided to just do an afternoon ride. Mind you Florida is in the upper 70's to low 80's right now. But did it! A WARM and mildly windy ride (on the way back). Drove out to the parkway trail so no traffic (except other bikes and children!). Did a 42 mile round trip. I did some "pulls" and did not draft the whole way (good for me!). Had a head wind on the way back, but felt pretty good to say I finally got the first good ride in for the season!
The new year brings a better balance of running and biking...training for 2 different events...(hopefully this will help get the weight off!)
