Back in Sept. our credit card had some stuff on it that we didn't buy. We contacted our credit card company, had the charge removed, got new cards, blah, blah, blah...It was a hassle actually.

Today I get in the mail a letter from the company they bought the stuff from and they would like to be paid. Right in the letter I have from them it says: Your credit card company said that this was an unauthorized charge.

Do they really think I'm going to pay for something I didn't authorize? Maybe they need to somehow revise their policy and not ship things second day to Hong Kong unless the credit card used belongs to someone actually in Hong Kong.

I'm sorry they are out their money. The weird thing is... they called the people who got the stuff because one of the things they wanted wasn't in stock and the phone number is on the invoice.

    Just bizarre.

When I had my wallet stolen, the thieves used my credit cards. One place they used it was at these movie rental vending machines. I received a call (with the credit card company acting as an intermidiary) from the owner of the vending machine asking me to pay for the movies. I said 'WHAT?'. I reported the card stolen immediately and why did the credit card company even put through that call to me. I wasn't going to pay for any of the unauthorized charges. I was pretty upset about the whole thing...

Is this what happens when credit cards are issued off shore?

I am not picking on any one particular place. Just pick a shore, go off of it. Go to some geographic cross-road where no one knows you or even grasps the concept of what time zone you're in, start a call center for a finance company.

I am rather amused that they want you to pay for unauthorized charges. Maybe you should find out who the company president is and send the letter back to him / her with that part highlighted?

Better yet, will you pay for something for me and my friends too?
