Instead of hershey;s kisses use Nestle Melts.
Hey! CC! Hershey's arrived in NZ about 10 years ago - you want I send you some for your winter solstice (I wouldn't trust them in the mail over summer or they would arrive pre-melted!)

    Bump.

I made these today. I think it's now an annual tradition.

They are soooo good, especially when you are crabby and need to do some stress eating.

Speaking of Kisses, I made these:

    I used dark chocolate ones.

How you feeling, yellow? I'm beginning to crash.

Well, between the pretzel-and-rolo things and the wine, I can say that I am now not quite as crabby. But still crabby nonetheless. Came to the conclusion today that my existing computer can't handle the movies my new camera (HD) takes. So that means I have to either upgrade this one or go buy a new one.

Guess I won't be getting new skis this year.

But the calories were TOTALLY worth it!

I have made those without the top pretzel and adding an M&M onto the top. (You put it on after you take it out of the oven when the Hershey's kiss is a little melted). It resembles an eyeball just enough to make it a good Halloween treat, especially if you use Halloween colored M&M's.

The first time I made these, I melted the kisses under a broiler a little too long. They end up getting hard, not melting all over the place like you would think. You only need to put them in for a very short while - maybe a minute.

Have you started making Gluhwein yet? I discovered it on the Holiday Wine Trail and now DH is requesting. I cannot wait to mix up a huge old pot full for family Christmas Saturday. I fear two bottles is too few.

I need a neighbor like yours, of course I do have a mother that is quite the enabler. Chocolate and a bottle of red- what an influence she is! Glad I don't like chocolate pretzels!

    New Rule

No pics of anything with more than 35 calories while it's too dang cold to get on the bike and burn it off.

I opened this thread, like everyone else, thinking - hmmm, I think I'll go get caught up in someone's neighborly conflict for a few minutes....

Deb- My husband went and rode yesterday, 46 miles. Psycho boy, I stayed in bed with a horrendous headache and woke up singing the praises of central heat and down comforters. I prefer running but it needs to get back to 40, it is miserable in the area today!!

    Amanda -
Your husband is superman in my book.

I was scheduled for a mammogram early this morning and drove through the 34 degree freezing precip to get there. Sure enough, I passed a guy out running on the way home (no cyclists though) and I thought, "darn, I wish I had that kind of motivation!" He wasn't even wearing a hat (but he was wearing ear warmers)

Maybe it'll clear up later and I'll go around the block at least, just to get my ever-growing butt in the saddle
