Yes, we saw movie at theatre tonight, the lst one in probably over 3 years. Yes, we're so retrograde.

And we went 'cause of tickets given a gift wth an expiry date in a few weeks. So went to see Quantum of Solace, newest James Bond movie. Plot was abit thin and to me, not well-developed.

We just find it expensive to go to movies at a theatre.
I also had forgotten how in-your-face even violence from an action movie can be. (and I realize Solace content would be tame stuff.) For reasons I can't explain, I was more intrigued by the special effects and stunt work.

I can't remember the last time I saw a movie in a theater, it was also over 3 years ago I'm sure.

I see most of mine on the plane (I flew about 150K miles this year for work)...not usually too much in-your-face violence there.

I'm sure it's been at least eight years since I've been to a movie theatre but in January I'm going to the local theatre (formerly known as the Tivoli and the only theatre in town) to see a cartoon festival

I just saw "seven pounds" yesterday. It was a real tear jerker. I highly recommend this movie.

I'm dying to see Doubt, and Milk is high on the list too.

One drawback of small town life is that you either have to drive a long way or take your chances on the "art house" movies coming to town.

Then if they do come to town and you've already driven somewhere else to see them, you feel like you have to see them again, just to support and encourage your local theater to keep getting limited release movies.

Last movie I saw in a theater was Serenity, the biggest drawbacks to a theater are no pause button, no adult beverages, and you have to wear real clothes.

Columbus has at least three theaters that serve beer and wine. I think more. Are Illinois' laws different, or you just not looking hard enough?

Pretty sure you have to wear clothes at all of them though.

We had a place that offered beer and pizza but it turned into a concert venue. Now it's just one art house and the usual mega theaters. And yes, they all require actual clothes.

ugh - 20 minutes of ads before the main feature starts for $9 each? No thanks, I will stick to DVDs at home. I do miss the theatre experience, but not that much to be tortured by commercials.

My son LOVES to go to the movies. Me, not so much. So now that he's a little more independent, and can ride his scooter to our new theater in town, by the time I'm ready to go to the movies, he's seen them all!

So, I just use the Red Box and get Netflix.

There are some movies I just have to see on the big screen--X-Files and M. Night Shyamalan flicks.

I haven't been in a theatre since 2007 (August). I do like going to the arts theatre once in awhile, but it's not that close to me. We get almost all indie films from Netflix anyway.
I have never been a movie buff; can't sit that long!

Oh, I LOVE watching movies in real theatres. I'm a drama hound, I love being in a huge room with lots of other people, awesome screen, wrap-around sound. I got quite indignant when my 11-yr-old would rather watch Narnia (which was one of my favourite books) from the couch at home than the Real Thing! With Lots of Sound and Action!! Some of my best movie experiences are from going to see a movie alone. I can still remember staggering shocked and silent out of "Platoon".
