    Almost ready to come home...

but not quite. I realized one of the brake cables is way too long (it was obstructing the headlight, what was he thinking?)

It still needs two small finishing touches-
    these half-clips
    and
    this water bottle cage

The background is the second photo is rather busy (ya think?) but i am so happy with the finished product i had to post.

New handlebars, stem, hub, wider tires, generator light system, pleather grips, and bar end shifters.
I reckon I should have a bell too
    before

    after

Your Mariposa looks great, Zen. That porter rack will definitely be a nice addition to her.

    Wow Zen, beautiful job.

Can you post one more photo of the handlebars and brakes configuration. It's hard to tell what's going on there in the photo. It looks quite intriguing.

    Sweet! Nice job.

Pardon my ignorance though... is the shifter lever on the seat tube to engage/disengage the generator? Or what? Do they come that way, or is it something the previous owner rigged up?

    What ignorance? You nailed it.
It has a bottom bracket generator that is engaged/disengaged with that lever. Sadly though, the generator is kaput.

How functional are the brake levers going to be, stuck out to the side like that? It looks cool, but it seems like you'll have to cock your wrist at an unnatural angle to grab ahold.
